The Los Angeles Clippers are no longer in “The Kelenna Azubuike Business.” Not that they had ever opened up shop, but an attempt to learn the trade was thwarted when the Golden State Warriors opted to match their offer on the restricted free agent. The decision wasn’t hard to see coming after news broke that their other target, former Laker Mo Evans, backed out of a deal at the last minute in hopes of more scratch. Officially on the clock, Chris Mullin likely felt a bird in the hand was worth two (or worse, none) in the bush, so they kept the young swingman around. A semi-blow to the Clips, who were hoping this kid could help fortify their bench with some athleticism and energy. A big blow for me, as I was hoping for another round of press conference and sandwiches.
