If panic had set in among Trojans fans after USC’s stunning loss to Oregon State in Corvallis, Saturday’s 44-10 blowout of then #23 Oregon at the Coliseum served as a much needed salve.  A warm bath.  A scalp massage.  Or choose a de-stresser of your own.   This week, they’ll face an Arizona State team that came into the season with big expectations they clearly haven’t met.  Worse, quarterback Rudy Carpenter is banged up, and seems likely to miss Saturday’s game.  For USC, Mark Sanchez (left) is healing up from the knee injury he suffered against the Ducks, and has a very good chance of playing.  Whether it’s Sanchez or Mitch Mustain- Pete Carroll’s backup QB of the week-the Trojans look past the Sun Devils.  They can’t.

That’s one of the topics I discuss in my (semi-)weekly conversation with Adam Rose of the LATimes.com’s All Things Trojan Blog.  We hit the ASU game, the second string QB situation, Joe McKnight’s role in the O, and other topics of import.  Enjoy.
