Manny Ramirez may draw the bulk of the headlines, but the Angels have no shortage of offseason issues that will keep GM Tony Reagins and manager Mike Scioscia busy in their quest to assemble a championship squad/best spend Arte Moreno’s money.  There’s the effort to re-sign slugging first baseman Mark Teixeira (left), who transformed the LAA lineup in the same way Ramirez did the Dodgers.  There’s the question of CC Sabathia, and whether or not the Angels should pursue the best free agent arm on the market, a true staff ace.  Or the near-certain departure of record setting closer Francisco Rodriguez.  What about Garrett Anderson?

The disappointment of October and the fluidity of the roster leaves many Halo devotees with an uneasy feeling.  It’s not the same as what Dodger fans are experiencing (We all know the Angels are going to be good next year, the question is how good.  The same can’t be said for the LAD.) but Angels fans have earned their stomach flutters honestly.

To put a couple thumbs on the pulse of the proverbial Angel Nation, my brother Andrew and I hit up Mat Gleason of Halos Heaven, the widely read Angels blog.   In a two part conversation, we talk about the best avenues Moreno’s vast fortune, the virtues of Scott Boras, what went wrong in October, and who Angels fans think should stay and go.  Enjoy.
